"Little Martha" - Our New Cheese!

We are SO thrilled to announce the introduction of our new cheese, the Little Martha. Keith has been working on this one and it shows in the flavors. It's a soft Italian style cheese, which pairs well with fresh fruit and full bodied wines. It's more of a dessert cheese, and it's sure to be the perfect end to any meal. We'll post photos of this baby as soon as we have some!

Our new menu preview party was a huge success this past Thursday! The Filet Mignon below was a standout!

Our guests enjoy rustic elegance at the Dining Room at the Lodge - now open to the public Thursday - Saturday evenings - reservations are required.

Chef Williams has been at the Lodge for a year and a half as the hospitality and dining manager, but he is now back and excited to be spearheading the creation of new menu items at the Lodge. Visit the Lodge during our regular open hours of Thursday - Saturday evenings by reservation only to experience the new flavors!

Tourism Day at the Capitol

Wow! After our unusual Atlanta snow week during his inauguration, we are so glad to have Governor Deal settling in to his new role! Cathy met him at the annual Tourism Day, along with representatives from around the state in the tourism industry. The Governor also presented the new 2011 Georgia Travel Guide, which has great information about all of the attractions throughout the state. The guides are distributed throughout the various visitor centers to help tourists learn about all of the diverse attractions around Georgia. Tourism generates employment and revenue for the state, and we are grateful to be a part of helping our state grow. Thanks to the Capitol and Gov. Deal for having us!

Looking for something different to do this Valentine's Day? We're so excited that love is in the air on Valentine's Day. Our dinner menu starts off with diver scallops, and proceeds to roasted salmon and burgundy braised beef short ribs, and followed with a chocolate tasting and glass of champagne. To top it off, the band Steam will provide music to dance the night away! $100 per couple for dinner and glass of champagne. Stay Overnight for additional $150 per couple for lodge room or additional $300 per couple for a cottage. Hearty Country Breakfast included.

Have you made your resolutions yet? We're still working on ours, but one that we plan to keep is the tradition of throwing the best party in Southeast Georgia! Ring in 2011 with our New Year's Eve party in Swainsboro, Georgia at the Lodge on Friday, December 31, 2011. We're serving our scrumptious New Year's Eve 4 course Prix Fixe menu for $100 per couple. There will be two seatings at 6 pm and 8 pm. Lively music provided by the band “Steam, and dancing begins at 8:00 pm.
