Omar has been at Flat Creek Lodge since 2006. He is charge of landscaping maintenance of the golf carts, tractors and general handy man. Omar is friendly and always ready to help in any capacity. Since Omar comes in early in the mornings he gets to see Flat Creek as the sun is rising over ponds and fields as he is riding his tractor. Like so many, it's difficult for him to choose a favorite place as he really loves the entire property. He is lucky in that he isn't tied to one particular place and can see everything and every place.
Omar really enjoys a Chef Chewy omelet made with the fresh cheeses and vegetables from Flat Creek. When lucky enough to be at work in the evenings, he enjoys the Chef’s great steak.

When not at Flat Creek Lodge, Omar enjoys being with his family. Originally from Cuba, he has very little family here in the United States. Omar and his family enjoy exploring new places in the U. S. He considers himself very fortunate to be an U.S. citizen.

Curt "Doodle" Hickox joined the Lodge just shy of a year ago, but he’s already making a big impact on our team! In his role in security, he is the first face of Flat Creek that guests encounter as they check in after hours. He also has the opportunity to share his passion for hunting and fishing as he helps in the area of outfitting.

He recommends the steak paired with the mushrooms grown here at the Lodge for a satisfying dining experience after a full day’s hunt. When he’s not enjoying the great outdoors, you’ll find him spending time with his fiancée. Says Hickox, “I feel really fortunate to be able to work at something I love and with the people of Flat Creek Lodge.”

Manager of the Security Team and Outfitter Jeff Drake has been at Flat Creek Lodge for nearly four years, getting his start with our team doing evening security.  

Jeff is uniquely qualified for the Outfitting role, as he grew up near the Lodge, and he still lives a stone's throw down the road.  Jeff has been a hunter and fisherman his entire life; he especially enjoys teaching and helping others -  especially young people -  to enjoy all the wonder and excitement nature has to offer.  

On your next visit, you just may spot Jeff riding his 4-wheeler or one of our hunting vehicles around our spectacular environment.  If you do, know that he's the man behind not only keeping our property secure, but also he makes sure every guest has an unforgettable experience by helping outfit them with the right gear for a great trip out hunting or fishing!
